The Hunger Games fandom is abuzz with a new rumor which suggests the first Mockingjay, Part 1 trailer may arrive in April.

Yahoo!’s international movie sites are claiming that a Tumblr associated with the production of the Mockingjay movies says that the first trailer will arrive sometime in April, but the publication stopped short of sharing the evidence.

Despite proof, it’s hard to deny that this is when Mockingjay will indeed release its first trailer. Last year the first trailer for Catching Fire (which also hit theaters in November) was released in April during the MTV Movie Awards.

There’s also the chance that the Mockingjay trailer will be attached to Divergent, Lionsgate/Summit’s new dystopian franchise which will launch in theaters on March 21. We’re betting on a debut with Divergent because it will help bring Hunger Games fans in to theaters to see the trailer, and by extension the film.

Speaking of Hunger Games/Divergent relations, the Catching Fire DVD will include a sneak peek at Divergent.

A teaser poster for the first movie – featuring the mockingjay bird with its wings spread wide – debuted late last month.

The cast and crew of The Hunger Games are currently filming both parts of Mockingjay. They are helmed by Francis Lawrence and star Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth.
