NBC will no longer be airing Donald Trump’s Miss USA, but the proud beauty pageant tradition will continue on Reelz.

Media conglomerate and recently announced presidential candidate Donald Trump has been let go from NBC, after making some contentious remarks about Mexican immigrants.

When explaining their decision to cut ties with Trump, NBC explained, “At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values. Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.”

This means that NBC will be looking for a new host for Celebrity Apprentice, while Trump gets to keep Miss USA in the divorce.

EW reports today that the 54th installment of the annual pageant will instead be airing on Reelz, a digital cable and satellite television network owned by Hubbard Broadcasting.

Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard says in a statement, “The decision on the part of Reelz to acquire the rights to the Miss USA Pageant was based on our belief that this special event, and the women who compete in it, are an integral part of American tradition.”

Adds Hubbard, “As one of only a few independent networks, we decided to exercise our own voice and committed ourselves to bringing this pageant to American viewers everywhere.”

Over the past couple of days, several celebrities have distanced themselves from Trump, and cut ties with the Miss USA pageant in the process.

Co-hosts Cheryl Burke and Thomas Roberts have both resigned their positions, while Flo Rida and Emmitt Smith have announced that they will no longer be performing at the event.

The Miss USA pageant, not to be confused with the scholarship contest Miss America, is a facet of Miss Universe — an organization owned by Trump.

One woman is chosen to represent every state in the U.S., and the winner will go on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant.
