Iwan Rheon speaks in a video interview about Game of Thrones and his new movie Wasteland. Is he playing Ramsay Bolton in season 3?

MTV has spoken to Rheon, who still refuses to give anything away about the character he is playing on Game of Thrones, but does speak about his experience filming for the third season:

While the identity of Iwan Rheon’s character on Game of Thrones is still kept secret and he is only listed as “Boy,” many are speculating that he is playing Ramsay Bolton.

In the novels, Ramsay is the bastard son of Roose Bolton, the lord of the Dreadfort who fights in the name of Robb Stark.

Ramsay is portrayed as a cruel, corrupted but none the less ambitious man, known for stripping down women and hunting them down in the forests of Bolton. The character is first introduced in A Clash of Kings, the second novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire saga. In the book he disguises himself as his servant Reek, and is taken to Winterfell as a prisoner, but Theon releases him and Ramsay becomes his accomplice in faking Bran and Rickon’s deaths.

Ramsay is the one who kills Rodrik Cassel, and who leads the assault on Winterfell which we saw in season 2 of Game of Thrones. When season 3 begins, the character will presumably still be holding the castle.

Game of Thrones returns for its third season, which will span the first half of the novel A Storm of Swords, on March 31, 2013.
