Creator of Misfits, Howard Overman, has signed on to create Crazy Face — a horror comedy series for Netflix with female leads.

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on the tantalizing new series Crazy Face, from the guy who brought us Misfits (the awesome original, not the weird American remake).

The six-part series will star Cara Theobold (left) and Susan Wokoma (right) as a pair of female demon hunters (sound familiar?), who team up to take down the supernatural forces plaguing humanity.

Specifically, Amy (Theobold) is gifted with the ability to see spirits that have possessed human bodies. Self-made demon slayer Raquel (Wokoma) brings the book knowledge (and a baton she bought on eBay), and the pair is all set up for vampire slaying ghostbusting umm… crazy facing.

Rean Steele, Lewis Reeves, Arinze Kene and Tony Curran also star.

Crazy Face will air on E4 in the U.K., while Netflix will stream the series to the rest of the world.

Howard Overman’s geek-friendly resumé also includes Merlin, Atlantis and Dirk Gently.

Says Channel 4 drama head Piers Wenger in a statement:

“Howard has been responsible for defining drama on E4 and with Crazy Face he’s proved himself to be on thrilling, anarchic and utterly rude form. We are delighted to welcome him back to the channel and to work with our partners at Urban Myth Films and Netflix to realize the ambition of this bold and brilliant series.”

Basically, Crazy Face sounds like a mashup of Supernatural, Buffy and Misfits — and we could not be more thrilled!

Production is set to begin this week in Bristol, England.
