We are revisiting the ten best moments from The Mindy Project season 2 finale. Does your favorite moment make the cut?

The second season of The Mindy Project just ended days ago and already, we are itching to see what comes for Danny, Mindy, and everyone at Shulman & Associates in season 3.

The entire episode was an homage to Nora Ephron films – Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, and When Harry Met Sally. Well, it was either dedicated to Ephron, or Meg Ryan (who starred in all three films, opposite Tom Hanks for the first two and Billy Crystal for the third.)

Our favorite moments of the season finale were when…

1) Danny envisioned the headline that The Post will use when Mindy inevitably ends up murdered if she reaches out to Andy, her Missed Connection that is looking for a woman with the “voice of a cartoon mouse.”

2) That missed connection that turns out to be Danny catfishing Mindy into loving him again. That seems like a logical way to profess your love. Danny emails to her: “I have a good feeling about you, Mindy Lahiri. Signed, Andy.” There’s no way that will backfire on him.

3) Danny apologizes to Morgan and Tamra about meddling in their office romance, saying he was projecting his feelings for Mindy onto them (duh). But, no worries Dr. C! They’ve been hooking up anyways. These two characters seemed destined for each other, in that they are both the right amount of crazy.

4) As Danny’s voiceover explains, they tour New York City together. He sees New York City through her eyes, and he takes the opportunity to show her his parts of town. He succeeds in getting her to forget about that jerk that stood her up, Andy (because Danny chickened out the night they were supposed to meet).

5) At Tamra’s suggestion, Danny emulates Bradley Cooper’s style as he gets ready to meet Mindy on the top of the Empire State Building (the first time) to reveal he is Andy. And as if Danny not knowing who Bradley is, and then dressing like him, wasn’t good enough, moment’s later he’s feverishly tries to undress, trips over the pants around his ankles, and yells “screw you, Bradley Cooper!” as he falls.

6) Danny pleads for a second chance after standing her up the first time, Mindy ignores everything he, and subsequently the office, has to say about his love for her. Even though Danny promises to wait as long as it took, Mindy is hell-bent on not giving in. That is, until Peter reveals her pair of earrings in Danny’s private box, proving everything they’ve been saying all along.

7) The office employees had to convince Danny to go meet Mindy. When they run into Danny casually eating a piece of pizza, feeling rejected, they reveal Mindy is on her way to the top of the Empire State at that moment to meet him. Bonus: We love Morgan’s “aren’t you from here!?” line as Danny runs back and forth, questioning the location of the Empire State Building.

8) Danny sprints to the Empire State Building in hopes Mindy doesn’t think she’s been stood up, again. Keen observers who have maybe seen When Harry Met Sally one too many times will know this scene is an homage to the movie, when Billy Crystal’s character goes chasing to meet Sally (Meg Ryan) before it’s too late.

9) Mindy and Danny discuss their future children. Of course Mindy wants nine daughters, and obviously Danny would want one boy – one kid maximum. While kids might be a little ways down the line, it was still cute to see them argue as if it’s already been decided. Something tells us the jump from their second attempt at a relationship to children is a little far – we’ve got a lot of story to tell, first.

10) Finally, The Mindy Project season 2 ended like this. The payoff after seeing these two waver on their feelings for two seasons was worth it – but the question is, how long will their bliss last?

What are you looking forward to in season 3? Tell us in the comments!
