With Mindy moving full-steam ahead with her fertility clinic, she starts to encounter obstacles any business owner will find tonight on The Mindy Project season 3, episode 19, “Fertility Bites.”

The Mindy Project season 3 has been about change. It hasn’t be subtle – a cross-country move, a baby! – but it also hasn’t been too obnoxiously in-your-face, either. It was gradual and felt par the course for a show of this nature (not a 20-something sit-com, not a CBS drama show, but somewhere in the happy medium.)

A few weeks ago, Mindy, urged by her San Francisco mentor Dr. Gurglar, decided she wanted to start her own fertility clinic. Tonight, on “Fertility Bites” she will try to realize that dream but, we are assuming, thing’s will not go exactly as planned.

We gather that yes, there will be ups and downs, but with Danny standing along-side her, and their baby on the way, the change of pace will be good for both Mindy and The Mindy Project. It feels like we’ve seen Mindy be the patient more than the doctor over the past couple of seasons, and now will be a time to redefine the ‘work place’ part of the show’s world.

Now, of course this change just doesn’t affect Mindy and Danny, we all know the search for a new doctor in the post-Peter phase has been a long and arduous task for Jeremy. When Dr. Bergdahl showed up, not exactly the poster man for “make us your gynecologists!” Jeremy seemed weary at best. But the man is competent, so he can hopefully fill the shoes that Dr. Shulman left so empty back in season 1.

The synopsis for tonight’s episode ‘Fertility Bites’ offers a look into both old and new doctors:

“Mindy’s fertility clinic opens, but with zero track record in the fertility field, attracting new patients is tougher than she imagined. Meanwhile, at Shulman & Associates, the nurses try to raise money for obese nurses while trying to get to know Dr. Bergdahl in the all-new “Fertility Bites” episode of The Mindy Project airing Tuesday, March 3 at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.”
