Mindy Kaling has just inked a major deal with NBC!

Hulu’s The Mindy Project might be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean Mindy Kaling and the team behind the series will be parting ways any time soon.

According to Variety, Kaling and the team behind The Mindy Project have officially signed on to executive produce two comedy projects currently in development at NBC.

The first series is set to be spearheaded by Lang Fisher, a co-executive producer, writer and director on Mindy Project. The series, which doesn’t yet have a title, is set to follow a crew of diplomats of a small U.S. embassy in the Caribbean. Things get a bit intense for the group when an unqualified, ignorant oil-man ends up being assigned as their ambassador.

Fisher is set to write the upcoming project, which he’ll also be producing alongside Kaling, David Miner, and Howard Klein.

The second series, which is being created by Mindy Project co-showrunner and executive producer Matt Warburton, has a working title of Venice Beach Venture.

The series, which is being billed as a workplace romantic comedy, is set against the backdrop of the Southern California tech scene. In Venice Beach Venture, viewers will be introduced to a young female engineer working at an elite venture capital firm who “aces an exasperating workplace and an arrogant billionaire boss.”

There’s no word yet on when we’ll see these series air on NBC, but we’re happy to hear that the team behind The Mindy Project are staying together after the series reaches its end with this year’s sixth season!
