The Angelina Jolie helmed Maleficent sequel could have a new casting addition in Michelle Pfeiffer.
Variety reports that the actress is in “advanced talks” to join the highly anticipated Maleficent 2. If things go according to plan, she will be playing “the queen” in the sequel.
The first movie, which starred Angelina Jolie as the villain from Sleeping Beauty, was released in 2014. The sequel is set to start filming this year, so we should be getting more casting announcements shortly.
The sequel will star Jolie and Elle Fanning. Also joining the cast is Ed Skrein. Joachim Ronning will be directing the sequel, following in the footsteps of Robert Stromberg, who directed Maleficent.
Most recently, Pfeiffer has been seen in Mother! and Murder on the Orient Express, and you’ll soon be able to see her in Ant-Man and the Wasp!
