It has been revealed that Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon, Midnight in Paris, The Queen) has lent his voice to Neil Gaiman’s episode of Doctor Who, The Doctor’s Wife.

The Doctor’s Wife, which airs this Saturday, sees the Doctor (Matt Smith) land on a junkyard planet where he meets Idris (Suranne Jones), an old friend of the Doctor’s but with a new face.

Whilst it is unknown what role Sheen will play, some people have speculated that he will be the voice of an Ood.

Sheen is apparently a big fan of Doctor Who, describing is as, “…one of the great cultural phenomena of the last few years here in Britain.”

You can hear Sheen in action this Saturday on BBC One and BBC America.
