Michael Peña is playing real-life DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena in Narcos: Mexico and Netflix’s new featurette will introduce you to him.

It can be tough to fill the shoes of a beloved character. For the first seasons of Netflix’s Narcos, we’ve followed the exploits of DEA Agent Javier Peña, played by Pedro Pascal, in Colombia. However, Narcos: Mexico will be taking us to a new country and introducing us to new faces working hard to fight against the cartels in Mexico.

To make sure that we are ready for this new story and new players in the fight against the cartel and drug trafficking, Netflix has released a featurette to introduce us to the protagonist of Narcos: Mexico, Kiki Camarena. Agent Camarena is a brave, dedicated DEA agent and family man, played by the amazing Michael Peña. From the looks of this video, we’re going to have no trouble rooting for him just as intensely as we did for Pascal’s Agent Peña.

Just like with the Colombia-set Narcos, Narcos: Mexico is based on a true story and is a dramatization of real-life struggle that occurred between the DEA and Félix Gallardo’s (played by Diego Luna) Guadalajara Cartel. The events of Camarena and the DEA’s fight against the Guadalajara Cartel changed the drug landscape in Mexico forever, and from what we see in this Netflix featurette, Michael Peña is the perfect actor to bring the human side of the story to life.

You can meet Agent Camarena for yourself when Narcos: Mexico premieres on Netflix on November 16.
