The upcoming live action Dora the Explorer movie just scored some pretty big names to play the adventurous titular character’s mom and dad.

Actors Michael Peña (Ant-Man and the Wasp) and Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) have both joined the cast of the Dora the Explorer movie as Dora’s parents.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peña officially closed his deal to appear in the film on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Longoria’s casting was announced previously.

Based on the hit children’s television series, which first premiered on Nickelodeon back in 2000, the upcoming live-action movie is set to premiere next year. When Dora hits the big screen, however, fans shouldn’t expect to see a pint sized adventurer traipsing across the jungle with her trusty sidekicks Boots and Backpack.

Instead, a slightly older Dora will be faced with tackling her biggest adventure yet: surviving her first year of high school.

Dora won’t just be hitting the books in her live-action adventure. She’ll also be setting off on an adventure with Diego and Boots in store to save her parents and get to the bottom of the mystery of a lost Inca civilization.

Earlier this year we learned that Isabel Moner would be bringing the beloved children’s character to life in the live action flick. Moner isn’t the only big name who joined the cast prior to Peña and Longoria.

In addition, the film also stars Eugenio Derbez, Micke Moreno, Nicholas Coombe, Madeleine Madden, Adriana Barraza, and Temuera Morrison.

The upcoming live-action Dora the Explorer movie is currently in production in Queensland, Australia, and is set to hit theaters next summer on August 2, 2019.
