Michael Fassbender and Dohmnall Gleeson have joined the U.K. comedy Frank, from director Lenny Abrahamson.

Variety reported the news, as Frank tells the story of “an aspiring musician (Gleeson) who finds himself in over his head when he joins an eccentric rock band led by Fassbender.”

Film4 is set to finance the film alongside the Irish Film Board. The script was penned by Jon Ronson and Peter Straughan.

Fassbender recently appeared in the Ridley Scott sci-fi Prometheus, and will next work the director in The Counselor. Gleeson, perhaps best known for his work in Harry Potter, will next be seen in Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina.

We’ll continue to follow the project as it nears production and release. Are you at all interested in the project?
