In a recent interview, Michael Caine, who will reprise his role as Alfred in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming blockbuster, leads many to think he may not be done with the franchise even after The Dark Knight Rises is released.

At a Cars 2 press conference, Caine had this to say about the series:

I think it will be the last Batman that Chris Nolan will make, I never say the last time for me for anything.

The actor also revealed the status of the film, which was recently filming in England and Scotland:

I can tell you we’re halfway through it. We finished in England, my next lot of filming is in America. And it’ll be great.

Do you think Michael Caine meant anything by his comment about the series continuing? Warner Bros. have been reportedly discussing continuing the series after Christopher Nolan leaves the franchise for good.
