Michael Buble has re-entered the spotlight after stepping away to support his son’s cancer battle, and he opened up about it on Carpool Karaoke.

Michael Buble abruptly stopped touring and releasing new music in late 2016 when his 3-year-old son was diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is a devastating diagnosis for anyone, but it’s always even more tragic when such a young child has to face down such a long, painful journey. Mercifully, Buble’s son is doing much better, and Buble is releasing new music and slowly opening up about his son’s brave fight against cancer.

On James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, Corden and the crooner took to the streets of Los Angeles to partake in some classic vehicular karaoke fun. However, towards the end of their time together, Corden asked Buble about his son, the cancer diagnosis, and what it was like to watch your young child go through something so horrible.

You can watch the entire carpool karaoke session below, but be sure you have your tissues handy. Buble starts talking about his son around the 10-minute mark.

The great news in this clip is that Buble’s son seems to be in remission, with Buble explaining that doctors told the family “We did it [successfully removed the cancer], he’s good, he’s okay.” And with Buble releasing an album in early November, it seems life is slowly returning to normal for the Buble family.

Of course, not every family experiences a happy ending after enduring something so awful, so Buble made sure to take the opportunity to encourage people to donate what they could to help support cancer research to find more effective treatment and cures to cancer.

You can donate to Stand Up To Cancer online in the US or text Late10 or Late20 to 70404 in the U.K. to donate 10 or 20 pounds to the organization. And be sure to check out Michael Buble’s new album, Love, releasing everywhere on November 16.
