Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan is gearing up to board another action-packed movie series.

Digital Spy reports that Michael B. Jordan has boarded Paramount Pictures’ upcoming film series centered around popular Tom Clancy character, John Clark.

Jordan will be playing Clark, an ex-Navy Seal also known as John Terrence Kelly, who now works as an operations officer for the CIA.

In total, John Clark has appeared in a whopping total of 17 of author Tom Clancy’s novels. Paramount is working on bringing two of those to life.

Currently the studio is developing a two-part film series for the character based off of Clancy’s novels Without Remorse and Rainbow Six. The former will serve as an origin story for the character.

As the development is still in the early stages, Paramount is still in the midst of meeting with potential screenwriters and directors for the first installment of the film series.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen John Clark on the big screen. Most recently, Liev Schreiber portrayed Clark in 2002’s The Sum of All Fears.

The film focused on popular Clancy hero Jack Ryan (Ben Affleck) on a quest to stop the plans of a Neo-Nazi faction threatening to stir up conflict between the United States and Russia.

Though Jack Ryan has often been at the center of Hollywood’s Clancy adaptations— including the most recent one over at Amazon Prime starring John Krasinski— we’re sure fans of the novelist will be happy to have yet another Clancy hero to root for.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect either film to hit theaters.

That being said, fans of Jordan can spot him next reprising his role as boxer Adonis Creed in the highly anticipated sequel Creed 2, due out just in time for Thanksgiving.
