Read the description of next week’s Merlin episode, “Another’s Sorrow,” in which Morgana casts a spell on Camelot and Janet Montgomery returns as Mithian.

BBC has released the following statement about the episode airing Saturday, October 27 at 8:20 GMT:

With Princess Mithian (Janet Montgomery) as the perfect bait, Morgana conjures a deception so powerful that the whole of Camelot is taken in – even Merlin himself.

But as the storm clouds gather, will the young warlock see through the lies? Or will Morgana at long last fulfil her dreams of revenge?

Colin Morgan is Merlin, Bradley James is Arthur, Angel Coulby is Gwen, Katie McGrath is Morgana, Richard Wilson is Gaius and John Hurt is the voice of the Great Dragon. Tom Hopper, Rupert Young, Eoin Macken and Adetomiwa Edun return as The Knights of the Round Table. Special guest stars include Janet Montgomery as Princess Mithian, and James Fox as King Rodor.

Princess Mithian appeared last season as the woman Arthur almost married, arriving to form a political connection with the king after Gwen had been exiled following her betrayal when Lancelot returned. But with Merlin’s help, Arthur realised that Mithian was not who he truly wanted to be with, and they parted ways very amicably.

It seems like this will be another Merlin episode which sees all the men of Camelot enchanted with a beautiful woman – but for the first time, the enchantment will also touch Merlin! Could Morgana have found out about Merlin’s magic, tailoring the spell to include him? Or is this perhaps Mordred’s doing?

Tomorrow night’s episode, “The Death Song of Uther Pendragon,” features the long-awaited return of Anthony Stewart Head, whom Arthur summons back from the dead. This will prove to have grave consequences as Uther is on a mission to destroy everything which Arthur has built and changed from the way his father used to rule – including the Round Table, Gwen and Merlin!
