Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish will soon grace the silver screen together!

According to Vulture, Melissa McCarthy has officially signed on to star opposite Girls Trip breakout actress Tiffany Haddish in the upcoming drama The Kitchen.

If the idea of McCarthy and Haddish teaming up together on the big screen wasn’t enough to sell you, we’re sure the film’s official synopsis is bound to pique your interest!

Based off of a DC comic-book series by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle, The Kitchen is set in New York City in the 1970s and focuses on the wives of Irish mobsters who suddenly find themselves taking over an organized crime ring in Hell’s Kitchen after an FBI sweep catches their mob leader husbands.

Don’t expect these mob wives to start playing nice, however. It turns out they’re even better at running the family business than their husbands ever could be.

Both McCarthy and Haddish have made names for themselves for their comedic acting chops. That being said, we’ll be excited to see them show a different side of themselves in The Kitchen.

The upcoming film, which is being produced by New Line Cinema and DC Entertainment is set to be written and directed by Straight Outta Compton screenwriter Andrea Berloff.

There’s no information yet with regards to when The Kitchen will premiere on big screens far and wide, but you can bet we’ll be keeping a close look out for more details as the film moves further and further into production!
