Fans were so excited for Melissa McCarthy to host SNL this week after she was spotted driving a podium through the streets of New York City as Sean Spicer earlier this week. This week’s episode marks McCarthy’s fifth time hosting SNL.

McCarthy opened the show with an non-traditional monologue. After asking the audience if anyone is a mother, she took one volunteer on a behind-the-scenes tour of the set. Check out the unique opening monologue below.

As expected, McCarthy returned as Sean Spicer in another sketch of the night. The audience cheered and applauded when McCarthy returned to the podium this week. The sketch included the footage that fans caught filming in the streets of New York City this week. The sketch also featured Aidy Bryant as Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Kate McKinnon reprised her role as iconic actress Debette Goldry. This time she is joined by Gaye Fontaine played by Melissa MccCarthy who also had an interesting and bizarre beginning in Hollywood.
