Melissa McCarthy heading back to school in the first trailer for New Line Cinema’s Life of the Party. Watch it below!

Melissa McCarthy has played a seasoned chef, a bridesmaid, an identity thief, and a spy. Now, the comedic actress is setting her sights on the world of higher education.

In the upcoming comedy Life of the Party, McCarthy plays a dedicated housewife named Deanna who suddenly finds herself a single woman after her husband dumps her.

Don’t worry — Deanna doesn’t spend too much time wallowing. As the first teaser trailer shows, Deanna finds a new joie de vivre when she suddenly decides she’s going to take advantage of being single and go back to college.

From there, we’re treated to a montage of McCarthy fully immersing herself into the college experience — which she shares with her own daughter who just so happens to be attending the same university.

The new flick was directed by McCarthy’s real life husband and fellow actor, Ben Falcone. The pair also teamed up to write the screenplay for the movie.
