The creator of the classic Mega Man series and Comcept CEO Keiji Inafune is apparently exploring development on Sony’s new handheld.

During his “The Future of Japanese Games” panel yesterday at the Game Developer’s Conference, Inafune let slip that he is working with the PlayStation Vita.

Immediately after, Inafune sheepishly smiled, reportedly saying he “may have slipped” and telling those in the audience to “pretend I didn’t say that.”

Inafune’s company, Comcept, is currently working on an upcoming 3DS title, King of Pirates.

The rest of the panel may have been even more interesting than this piece of information. The developer reportedly started off the event by stating, “There might be some harsh comments, but please be prepared,” before going on to say the Japanese gaming industry “has lost the tenacity to succeed.”
