Oops: McDonald’s new line of Minions-themed Happy Meal toys might actually be swearing at your children!

If you’re a parent, or a teacher, or have younger siblings, you know how hard adults work to keep kids’ language clean for as long as possible.

Well, McDonald’s either just started the swear word revolution, or they’re made a pretty f***ing big mistake.

As this video uploaded by a disgruntled parent shows, the Minions toys that come with the new McDonald’s Happy Meals appear to be letting out a string of barely intelligible curse words:

Sh**, guys, we think they’re on to something. If you’re listening for it, it does kind of sound like the little cave-Minion is saying, “What the f***” and “I’ll be damned.”

The Telegraph looked into the situation, speaking to some of the parents who have taken the toys away from their children.

“As soon as we heard it, her mum took it away. I listened to it and that’s when we found out what’s what it was saying,” one father recalls.

However, a spokesperson for McDonald’s claims that the Minions aren’t actually swearing.

“Minions speak Minionese, which is a random combination of languages and nonsense words and sounds,” the spokesperson tells The Telegraph. “Minionese has no translation to or any meaning in any recognized language. Any perceived similarities to words within the English language are purely coincidental.”

What’s the verdict? Do you think the Minions’ mumblings sound enough like swear words to warrant this backlash, or are the parents hearing profanities where there aren’t any?
