With news now coming directly from the director of the adaption, Wes Ball, we finally have our first two confirmed actors for The Maze Runner movie. Will Poulter (above, left) will take on the role of Gally, while Aml Ameenn (right) will take on Alby.
Ball tweeted the following last night:
Runners! We have two official cast members. Aml Ameen is our Alby. Will Poulter is our Gally. Both amazing actors. We’re lucky to have them.

Alby is the leader of the Gladers. He cares deeply about everyone in the glade and is willing to do whatever necessary to protect the family. He’s the one who organized them into a “society” that they’ve evolved into, so routine and order is of the utmost importance to Alby. He’s strong and commanding, but fatherly.
Gally is the clear antagonist to Thomas, but not an evil person. The other side of the coin. Stubborn and arrogant, but ultimately a victim of their situation.
Just yesterday we learned that Thomas Brodie-Sangster will portray Newt in the film, although nothing has been confirmed yet by Wes Ball.

“Thomas awakens in a dilapidated elevator with no memories except for his own name. The elevator deposits him into a strange place called The Glade – a large outdoor space surrounded on all sides by 150 foot walls of solid stone, and inhabited by 50 other boys who have lived there for the past 2 years all with no memory of how they got there or who sent them. Every morning the walls move apart to allow the boys out of the Glade and into the enormous and complex MAZE that stretched for miles and miles with no clear end or escape. At night the walls seal the boys inside the Glade and protect them from the vicious Grievers – insect like creatures who prowl the maze and attack anybody unfortunate enough to get stuck in it overnight.”
“The maze is constantly shifting, awe-inspiring, and so far, unsolved. The Gladers’ only hope of escaping lie in the hands of elite Maze Runners who search the shifting maze for an exit each day. When the elevator makes an unscheduled delivery of the first girl (Teresa) in the Glade’s history, everything is thrown into chaos.
