It’s a Friends reunion! Well, kind of. Matthew Perry has been cast in a new NBC pilot, written by a writer from the popular sitcom!

EW reports that Matthew Perry will star in the single camera pilot Go On. They describe his role as:

A charming sportscaster who tries to move on after a personal tragedy through the help of mandatory therapy sessions.

Actress Julie White (Transformers, Law & Order: SVU) will co-star as, “A recently widowed woman who’s stuck in the anger stage of grief.

The pilot has been written by Friends writer Scott Silveri, who will also serve as executive producer on the show should it get picked up by the network. Silveri’s writing credits on Friends include ‘TOW Ross’ Wedding, part 2,’ ‘TOW the Proposal, part 1,’ and ‘TOW the Ball’. He also wrote for Joey.

Let’s wish this project good luck and hope it fares better than Mr. Sunshine!
