Following his Glee co-star’s untimely death, Matthew Morrison dedicated his recent live performance to Cory Monteith.

According to the New York Times, Matthew Morrison performed a live show at 54 Below, a venue in New York City this afternoon and dedicated the performance to his fallen co-star Cory Monteith.

Morrison also noted that it was “awkward” to be performing under the tragic circumstances:

“You guys came to see a show, I came to perform a show, so that’s what we’ll do. And we’ll do it in Cory’s honor.”

Morrison called Cory Monteith his “brother” during the night which opened with an a cappella version of “What I Did For Love” a song from the Broadway musical A Chorus Line, which was also used on Glee.

Morrison danced and interacted with the audience, according to the report, and even joked about the drug-den history of the venue that it used to be back in the 1970’s.

Though much of the cast of Glee has not made any public statements about the death of Glee’s leading man, it’s expected that details and more mourning of the beloved actor will surface over the next couple of days.
