Matt Damon is officially teaming up with Netflix for a new series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has given the green light to a new, unscripted survival comedy series which will be executive produced by Matt Damon.

The Oscar winner’s new show, called The Green Beret’s Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse, is described as an anthology series that peppers in useful survival skills and a healthy dose of comedy.

Each episode of The Green Beret’s Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse is set to center around a new main character who will then be tasked with figuring out how to survive a new apocalyptic scenario.

Damon won’t be working alone on the project. He’s tapped Shawn Vance, a former U.S. Special Forces Green Beret, and Daril Fanin, an ex-combat medic in the U.S. army, to work on the project with him. Vance and Fanin, both of whom are military veterans, are set to star and executive produce on the series.

Currently, Netflix has given Damon’s forthcoming unscripted comedy an eight episode first season order.

Currently there’s no set release date for Matt Damon’s new series, but we’re sure Netflix will update us with more details once the project moves further into production.

Though it sounds as though The Green Beret’s Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, we’ll be curious to see if the series finds an audience on Netflix, or if it ends up flopping after one disastrous season.
