Matrix 4 has officially found its newest cast member in none other than Neil Patrick Harris.

Update (10/17/19): Matrix 4 has added an exciting new cast member. For those of us still mourning the loss of Netflix’s Marvel shows, we’ve got some good news. Iron Fist’s own Jessica Henwick has been tapped to join the cast of Matrix 4.

As Variety reports, Henwick is currently in the middle of final negotiations to appear in the film. With plot details still under lock and key, we don’t know what role Henwick would be playing.

However, after watching her kick ass in Iron Fist as Colleen Wing, we know she’ll be more than capable of holding her own with the Matrix legends returning like Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann-Moss (a Marvel Netflix alum as well). Matrix 4 is doing a great job of bringing back beloved characters from the originals and bringing in exciting new faces into the fold, and we can’t help but feel excited about any movie that enlists the amazing talents of Jessica Henwick.

Original article (10/15/19):According to Deadline, How I Met Your Mother vet Neil Patrick Harris, is the latest star to join the cast of the highly anticipated fourth installment of Warner Brothers and Village Roadshow’s The Matrix franchise.

Unfortunately, fans hoping to gain some insight into what role Harris will play in Matrix 4 will have to sit tight. Currently, details regarding his character are being kept firmly under wraps.

Neil Patrick Harris’ involvement in the highly anticipated film isn’t the only exciting Matrix 4 casting news we got on Tuesday (October 15).

In addition, it’s also reported that actress Jada Pinkett Smith is currently in negotiations to join the cast as well.

Pinkett Smith’s potential involvement on the project is especially exciting given that signing on would find the actress reprising her role of Niobe.

Previously seen in The Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions, Niobe hails from Zion and serves as captain of the Logos hovercraft, in addition to being a rebel in the war against the Matrix and the Machines.

Smith wouldn’t be the only veteran returning to the franchise.

When the fourth installment of the franchise was first announced back in August, it was also revealed that original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss had both signed on to reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity. In addition, Lana Wachowski is also signed on to return as writer and director on the project.

Additionally, Harris and Pinkett Smith’s involvement comes hot on the heels of word that Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is in final talks to join the cast as well.

We’ll be looking forward to seeing who else signs on to take part in Matrix 4 as the film moves further and further into production!
