The first trailer is out for Showtime’s Masters of Sex season 2, and things are looking quite dark for Bill, Virginia, and everyone else.

This new Masters of Sex trailer is our very first look at the upcoming episodes which begin to air July 13 on the pay cabler.

While many of the scenes are cut so they are out of context (thus not spoiler-y), there are a few moments that stood out to us: Bill and Virginia are trying to make their relationship work, but they have to go to lengths like getting a room at a hotel for their rendezvous. Scully is ill, so it seems, and has been disappearing. Lillian has been hospitalized as well, and she’s not giving up on buying out Virginia. Finally, Bill participates in another fist fight this season just like he did in the first.

In another new video which promotes Showtime’s summer offerings (which are Masters and Ray Donavan), we see two new clips where Virginia says she’s getting propositions all the time since the big presentation during season 1, and Bill tells his wife that something is “done,” and it’s the “last time” they’ll speak of it. Is Mrs. Masters on to Bill and Virginia’s relationship?

Masters of Sex season 2 has added several newcomers. One of the more recent additions is Sarah Silverman who will play Betty’s ex-lover Helen. Notably, Silverman is currently in a real life relationship with Michael Sheen who plays Dr. Masters.
