Variety has learned that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) will star in the psychological thriller The Darkness. More info after the jump.

The plot according to Variety:

Project will topline Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”) as an American student looking after her tutor’s two children in a remote English manor house. She soon comes to believe that she and the children are being haunted when their lives are threatened by mysterious events.

Winstead has just come off of a critically-acclaimed turn in the Sundance pic Smashed, as well as a role in the remake of The Thing and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The Darkness is slated to being filming in Europe this summer.
