The cast and creative team of Marvel’s Inhumans weigh in on the possibility of that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. crossover.
Inhumans and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will now be airing bumper to bumper, ABC president Channing Dungey announced on Sunday.
“[Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is] going to come on right after Inhumans,” Dungey confirms. “As soon as the eight episodes of Inhumans is done, then S.H.I.E.L.D. will begin.”
Inhumans should conclude in early November, leaving Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 several weeks to get started before the winter hiatus.

With the two Marvel Television series now so closely scheduled — Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had been presumed a mid-season replacement — the question of an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. crossover with Inhumans becomes even more pressing.
Beyond a few flashbacks featuring Peggy Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been largely left in the cold by the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. The evident connections between the two series (Earth-born Inhumans play a pivotal role on S.H.I.E.L.D.) create ample room for an active connection between the two series.
Inhumans showrunner Scott Buck is frank on the subject — sadly, fans should not expect an extensive crossover with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. However, the two series will be sharing more of a common language than ABC’s Marvel properties have thus far.
“We had to be aware of what was happening in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. because we do inhabit the same universe, and our characters do come to Earth,” Buck says. “So we don’t specifcally mention any characters from Agents of SHIELD, but that what has happened there is relevent to what happens in our show.”
In fact, as revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con panel for Inhumans, on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have a direct impact on the new series.
“Our characters are aware that Terrigen has been released on Earth, and that it is effecting this people,” Buck confirms. “They’re aware that these are their relatives, these are their family, these are their people, in a way.”
“And that’s one of the instigating moments that actually sort of jump-starts our entire story.”
Studio plans aside however, the cast of Marvel’s Inhumans have their own thoughts on a potential Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. crossover.
“I’ve been trying to get some tidbits,” says Mike Moh, who plays Triton. “Are we with the S.H.I.E.L.D. team? Are we with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
“And the Defenders!” co-star Sonya Balmores says. “Where are we?”
“Marvel TV is taking over everything,” Moh continues. “There’s like a hundred shows now. So it would be really cool to link them all together! They say everything’s connected, and at least hopefully TV, we start meeting up with different characters. We’ll see!”
Isabelle Cornish, who plays Medusa’s teen aged sister Crystal, has her own ideas.
“I think it would be cool if we could all have one big party show,” she muses. “But you never know!”
Marvel’s Inhumans debuts in IMAX on Sept. 1, and on ABC on Sept. 29 at 9:00 p.m.
