Marvel’s Ant-Man plot has been a bit of a mystery, but the studio has released the first shot of the film’s villain, Yellowjacket.

Ant-Man finished filming the first week of December, and we imagine we’ll start getting some looks at the characters from the film very soon. Today we have our first look at the film’s villain, Yellowjacket, and while we don’t know who is playing the character he definitely looks interesting.

The trailer for Ant-Man was classified last week, and it was revealed that it would have a 1 minute 48 second run-time, and we may be seeing it sometime this week. We’ve only seen a few images from the film, so it’ll be exciting to see the trailer for a film which has ended up with a stellar cast.

Michael Douglas is playing Hank Pym, a biochemist who discovers an unusual set of subatomic particles he would label “Pym particles.” He would then discover that the serum was more powerful than he had expected, and is reduced to the size of an insect in the original comic. But in the film’s storyline, he doesn’t get turned into Ant-Man, he develops the formula and Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) will be the one turning into Ant-Man.

After director Peyton Reed took over to helm the troubled film, there haven’t been many changes, but we’ve seen a few actors join the film after the script was finished. One of them must be playing the film’s villain, Yellowjacket.

It was back in August when we got our first look at Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, which revealed a much darker tone than we originally anticipated. In case fans missed the first image from Ant-Man, be sure to check it out.

Rudd’s character is an ex-con and thief who ends up finding a mentor in Dr. Hank Pym, the genius inventor of the technology that allows him to shrink down to the size of an insect and increases the person’s strength.

We look forward to seeing more of Ant-Man as Reed continues finalizing the film. Yellowjacket’s design looks as equally impressive as Ant-Man’s, so we can’t wait to see the real versions once the trailer lands (hopefully) later this week.

Ant-Man will hit theaters July 17, 2015.
