Don’t worry, Marvel and Star Wars fans. Disney will NEVER stop exploiting that source of revenue.

We’ve got a lot of exciting installments of both Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe to look forward to. In fact, it seems we’ll be looking forward to new movies in these franchises until we die.

Disney CEO Bob Iger tells BBC Newsbeat, that “there will be more” Star Wars films beyond those already scheduled. “I don’t know how many, I don’t know how often.”

So far, the Star Wars franchise is only scheduled until 2019: We’ve got the first anthology film, Rogue One, scheduled for this winter, with Episode VIII of the main saga following in 2017.

Then in 2018 there’s the Han Solo origin story, followed by the final installment in the new trilogy in 2019. Another anthology film may be coming in 2020, if Disney’s decided on a plot by then (rumor has it they’re still not sold on the Boba Fett idea).

As for Marvel, expect phase after phase after phase of superhero films. In Iger’s own words, “Marvel, you’re dealing with thousands and thousands of characters — that will go on forever.”

Not only are there new characters joining the MCU all the time, but existing franchises have renewal potential, too. This summer, we’re wrapping up the Captain America trilogy, but who’s to say there won’t be a new Cap with his own set of movies? And every saga can be rebooted — just look at Spider-Man!

If you’ve already got superhero fatigue, you’re probably not alone. But never fear. Says Iger, “I think we keep raising the bar in terms of telling stories that bring [audiences] back, that excite them, that make it feel new and that is what we do for a living.”

Do you think you’ll ever stop being excited about new Marvel and Star Wars movies?
