Of course, with Iron Man 3 on the horizon, it might be a while before Robert Downey Jr. stops lending his valuable and talented face to the Iron Man/Avengers franchise, but what will happen when he does?

Badass Digest (via CBM) caught up with Kevin Feige to ask him this question, and it seems that Marvel is taking a very comic-faithful attitude towards the inevitable actor change.

I think Bond is a good example. Let’s put it this way: I hope Downey makes a lot of movies for us as Stark. If and when he doesn’t, and I’m still here making these movies, we don’t take him to Afghanistan and have him wounded again. I think we James Bond it.

This leaves thousands of possibilities for the Marvel franchise, but it’s far too soon to imagine if Iron Man would even work without Downey. Would you see a Downey-less Iron Man sequel? Would you hope for him to make an appearance for the Avengers sequels? What actor would you choose to replace him?
