Disney Imagineers have been hard at work figuring out how to make a Marvel theme park happen in Anaheim, California, while IMG has been attempting to do the same in Dubai and now a Justice League ride is apparently headed to Australia.

According to SlashFilm, Marvel is about to make their presence known in the theme park world by bringing a multitude of parks and rides to cities across the globe.

With two new attractions planned in Anaheim and Dubai, Marvel looks to be on the move. MTV reports that Ilyas & Mustafa Galdari (IMG) has broken ground on a Marvel-themed “family entertainment center.” Which they hope will be available to the public by the end of 2013. The plans were actually set back in 2007 for a full fledged theme park, but due to the economy bust in 2008, it’s been scaled down a bit to a still impressive eight indoor acres of IMG’s current 27-acre theme park.

Marvel Adventure will most likely be smaller attractions rather than large rides, such as restaurants, stores, and a large range of entertainment experiences that will feature Marvel characters. Disney will be backing the themed area, but it’s mostly only related by the many licensing agreements that were needed for something like this to occur. Sadly, it will not involve Disney’s well known Imagineers.

This will not be the case with the planned Marvel attraction in Anaheim. Disney is fully involved with the U.S. Marvel theme park and it’s already been mocked up as a model by the Disney design team. Though it hasn’t been officially green-lit, plans call for it to feature “thrill rides and energetic shows aimed at teens and adults,” and they hope that this will be the first of many Marvel theme parks built in the States, similar to how the Harry Potter theme parks look to be spreading around the U.S.

This park will not replace an older piece of the park, it will be a separate piece alongside the two existing areas which consist of original Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. While the Dubai park is a mere 8 acres, the California Marvel area is looking at a massive 100 acre piece of land, which is near the Toy Story parking lot, but this is simply where the mock up has the park and details could obviously be changed once plans are finalized.

As of now, it’s still in the early stages. Disney is hoping that their relaunch of California Adventure is successful and then they will decide if they wish to move forward with the Marvel area. One has to imagine that with Marvel being such a big part of the average consumer’s life now, that they would jump at using their wealth of licensing abilities to make such an attractive theme park.

Justice League is getting some love as well according to SHH, as Warner Bros. is coming up with some ideas of their own which could result in a ride called Justice League: Alien Invasion 3D, which is already set to come to Australia in September. This will be one epic adventure ride, which lets the riders have an experience with DC’s comic heroes (Batman, Superman, etc…) and help them fight against “millions of evil alien spores.”

As you wait in line to get on the ride, you’ll get introduced to a visual aide which will fill you in with the story like a news anchor might, which should make the wait time a bit more manageable. When it’s your turn to jump on the ride, you’ll hop into one of eight alien crafts and make your way through the eight enormous 3D screens to fight off the alien foes.

Looks like it’s not only the U.S. who’s gone crazy for comic heroes and we look forward to seeing how these many incredible ideas come to fruition.

What do you think about all the comic theme park action happening around the globe?
