Disney Imagineers have been hard at work figuring out how to make a Marvel theme park happen in Anaheim, California, while IMG has been attempting to do the same in Dubai and now a Justice League ride is apparently headed to Australia.
According to SlashFilm, Marvel is about to make their presence known in the theme park world by bringing a multitude of parks and rides to cities across the globe.
Marvel Adventure will most likely be smaller attractions rather than large rides, such as restaurants, stores, and a large range of entertainment experiences that will feature Marvel characters. Disney will be backing the themed area, but it’s mostly only related by the many licensing agreements that were needed for something like this to occur. Sadly, it will not involve Disney’s well known Imagineers.
This park will not replace an older piece of the park, it will be a separate piece alongside the two existing areas which consist of original Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. While the Dubai park is a mere 8 acres, the California Marvel area is looking at a massive 100 acre piece of land, which is near the Toy Story parking lot, but this is simply where the mock up has the park and details could obviously be changed once plans are finalized.
As of now, it’s still in the early stages. Disney is hoping that their relaunch of California Adventure is successful and then they will decide if they wish to move forward with the Marvel area. One has to imagine that with Marvel being such a big part of the average consumer’s life now, that they would jump at using their wealth of licensing abilities to make such an attractive theme park.
As you wait in line to get on the ride, you’ll get introduced to a visual aide which will fill you in with the story like a news anchor might, which should make the wait time a bit more manageable. When it’s your turn to jump on the ride, you’ll hop into one of eight alien crafts and make your way through the eight enormous 3D screens to fight off the alien foes.
Looks like it’s not only the U.S. who’s gone crazy for comic heroes and we look forward to seeing how these many incredible ideas come to fruition.
