We’ll get to see Spider-Man a little bit (we’re talking days) sooner than we thought. The Jumanji reboot will have to wait, to our deepest regret.

Quick poll: Which movie are you most excited for, Spider-Man or Jumanji?

On second thought, don’t answer that. It seems cruel.

Sony has made some changes to its release date schedule, meaning a little shorter wait for one, and a little longer for the other.

The third incarnation of Spider-Man, now a co-production with Marvel Studios, was originally slated for July 28, 2017, but is now set to hit on July 7, 2017.

This bumps up Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth in the franchise, which is now set for May 2017.

Meanwhile, the reboot of Jumanji has been shifted from Christmas 2016 to July 28, 2017. Described as a “re-imagining” of the 1995 film starring the late Robin Williams, the Jumanji reboot is directed by Jake Kasdan.

Spider-Man is highly anticipated by Marvel fans, who can look forward to see Tom Holland make his debut as the beloved character in this summer’s Captain America: Civil War.

Peter Parker is set to add some (probably) much-needed comic relief to the intense superhero showdown. In the movie, Captain America (Chris Evans) is pitted against Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) when they find themselves on opposite sides of a major conflict.

Tom Holland is the third Spider-Man in recent history, following in the footsteps of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. The only other confirmed cast member in Spider-Man is Marisa Tomei, who’ll be playing Peter’s Aunt May.
