Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s co-star on The Passage, Saniyya Sidney, is just now being introduced to Zack Morris and Saved by the Bell.

Today in “man, I feel old” news, Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s young co-star Saniyaa Sidney revealed that she had no idea of her colleague’s storied history as the infamous Zack Morris of Bayside High on Saved by the Bell. As she explained during a panel at the Television Critics’ Association press tour on Thursday, the only Zac she knew of was Zac Efron.

As USA Today reports, she has begun to watch the late 80s/early 90s classic. And while we’re very happy that she’s finally chosen to plug into this staple of 90s teen culture, more importantly, Gosselaar has offered her a great deal of advice on how to deal with being a child actor and child star.

Gosselaar explained that his best advice to Sidney was to remind her to “be a kid,” and according to Sidney, Gosselaar has worked hard to make sure that while he and Sidney are on set, she has a good time working.

Sidney explained, “Whenever I go to work, I always want to have fun. We’re like Thelma and Louise. When I act and I’m with him it feels wonderful, being able to play a girl that really needs someone. Whatever (my character) Amy is going through, I’m going through. So I need Mark-Paul, always.”

The Passage isn’t Sidney’s first major Hollywood project, of course. She’s starred in films like Hidden Figures and Fences, so it doesn’t seem like her career is slowing down any time soon. But being a child star is incredibly stressful, and it’s good to hear she not only has Gosselaar in her corner, sharing his wisdom from years as a child star, but she’s also getting to enjoy his adventures (and fashion choices, let’s be honest) from his time at Bayside High.

The Passage will premiere on Fox later in 2018.
