We may or may not get more Sherlock in our lives, but Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat are far from done. Their next project? Dracula.

Variety reports that the team behind bringing Sherlock to our screens has a new project. Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat will write the series, while Hartswood Films will produce.

The ‘Dracula’ project is not yet underway as both Gatiss and Moffat have solo projects they are currently working on, but the series will adapt the same format as Sherlock, running as a mini-series with feature length episodes.

This is bound to bring mixed reviews, because for all the love that Sherlock gets, Moffat has not made friends with some of his creative decisions regarding Sherlock and Doctor Who.

Casting is a ways off, but we will definitely be on the lookout as Benedict Cumberbatch has made a name for himself starting with Sherlock. We are eager to see if Moffat and Gatiss can strike gold yet again with a whole new idea, especially when you add in the supernatural factor.

It is not yet known if they will attempt to bring Dracula to the modern age in their new mini-series, but details are sure to come out as this project moves forward.

Do you think ‘Dracula’ is a good fit for a Moffat and Gatiss mini-series?
