Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie has been eyeing a bunch of possible DC-related projects lately, but a new one might be on the horizon for her that’s a little bit different.

Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Legend of Tarzan) stunned in Suicide Squad as the insane anti-hero Harley Quinn, but now the actress is looking to take on a vastly different role, and one that may or may not include a cute little bunny.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie is in final negotiations to join Sony’s live-action Peter Rabbit film, which is based off the story by Beatrix Potter.

Though the movie will be live-action, it’ll also feature CGI for the long-eared heroes, much like we’ve seen lately in The BFG and Pete’s Dragon.

Will Gluck, who previously directed Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis in Friends with Benefits, will be taking on Peter Rabbit, which also stars James Corden (voicing the titular character), Rose Byrne (Bea), Domhnall Gleeson (Mr. McGregor), Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki.

THR states the movie is “a modern interpretation of Potter’s works centering on the rivalry between mischievous young hopper Peter Rabbit and Mr. McGregor, a man trying to keep a rabbit-free garden.”

The other actors’ roles are unknown, as is Robbie’s, though apparently she will be voicing a rabbit alongside Corden.

We know Robbie wants a Harley/Joker spinoff film, but we know she also wants an all-female superhero movie with some characters we may or may not have seen in live-action adaptations before.

Before all of that happens, however, Robbie will appear in the Lillian Leitzel biopic Queen of the Air. You can also see her hosting a recent episode of SNL.

I feel like information about this Peter Rabbit film has been flying under the radar, but perhaps this casting will help bring the movie into the light.
