Can’t get enough Harley Quinn content? You just might be in luck. Margot Robbie is allegedly working on a third spinoff for the character.
Whatever your opinions were on Warner Brothers’ Suicide Squad as a whole, there’s no denying that – like her animated and comic counterpart – Harley Quinn was quite the fan-favorite.
Warner Bros. certainly seems to be of that opinion as well, as there are now three Harley Quinn centric films in development at the studio.
We were already aware of the one due to focus on the relationship between Harley and the Joker, as well as Gotham City Sirens, but Robbie has been working on another, female-heavy Harley film, unrelated to both those projects.
Robbie revealed the news whilst speaking to MTV during the promotional tour for I, Tonya.

Said Robbie of the project, “I’ve been working on it for two years now. It’s hard to kind of talk about it because all this stuff is under lock and key, but no I’ve been working on a separate spinoff Harley thing for a while now… [Not Sirens], it’s a totally separate one. Yeah, there’s a lot going on right now and I honestly don’t think anyone knows what’s gonna be the next thing to happen, but I think everyone’s keen to get Harley back on screen so everyone’s working on different versions of what that could be.”
Harley will likely return to our screens in the follow up to Suicide Squad, which is being directed by Gavin O’Connor, though Warner Bros. has yet to announce a release date for that, or any of their other Harley-centric projects.
“I want to see her with other women,” Robbie continued. “I kept saying when we were shooting Suicide Squad, ‘She needs her girlfriends. She needs other girls around her because she loves that.’ You see it in the comics, she loves meeting people — any people — but she needs a little girl gang.”
News on the Sirens front has also been quiet lately, which would see Harley team up with Catwoman and Poison Ivy, so it is also likely that this project could take its place. David Ayer’s continued involvement in Sirens is also uncertain, due to Suicide Squad performing below expectations.
