Timberlake, who collaborated on some of the film’s music, will be playing the part of Jim in the upcoming Inside Llewyn Davis.

The latest trailer for the new Coen Brothers film was released back at the end of August and shed a bit more light on Timberlake’s upcoming role. Timberlake’s character Jim is the partner of the titular Llewyn Davis and, additionally, the trailer teases a point of conflict between the two characters as we learn that Davis has an affair with Jim’s wife, Jean.

The trailer also shows us a bit more of John Goodman’s character, who looks like he’ll be delivering a lot of dark, dry humor in the film from Academy Award winning filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

“Inside Llewyn Davis” follows an aspiring singer-songwriter (Isaac) as he navigates the 1960s folk-music scene in New York City’s Greenwich Village. Grammy-winner T Bone Burnett produced the film’s soundtrack which includes music performed by, among others, Oscar Isaac, Marcus Mumford and Justin Timberlake. Robert Graf served as executive producer, T Bone Burnett served as executive music producer and Marcus Mumford as associate music producer.
