About ‘Man Card’ by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby:

Nothing ventured, nothing banged…

Ash
I still don’t know how it happened. One minute I was arguing with my arrogant competitor–our usual trash-talk over who deserves the larger commission. But somehow I went from throwing down to kneeling down…
It can never happen again. I don’t even like Braht. He’s too slick. He’s a manipulating mansplaining party boy in preppy clothes.
So why can’t I get him out of my head?

Braht
There are two things I know without question. One: Ash and I are destined for each other. Two: never trust a man with a unibrow.
Ash is my missing my piece. She’s the sweet cream to my gourmet espresso. And nothing gets me going faster than her contempt for me. They don’t call her the Ashkicker for nothing.
Eventually I’ll win her over…if my past doesn’t ruin everything first.

‘Man Card’ by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby book review:

After reading Man Hands I wasn’t really expecting to like Braht. But boy was a I wrong. Despite the way he annoys Ash in the first book of the series, he’s completely love-able to everyone else.

With this novel Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby really take the stereotypical romance hero and flip him all around, until you end up with the well mannered, well groomed, manscaping, manicure getting, designer obsessed Braht. He’s totally unique and doesn’t need to live up to anyone’s standards because he’s too busy with a booming career and sweeping Ash off her feet.

Oh, Ash. You have no idea what you do to me. Every time I see her I’m wrecked, right from hello. This has been going on for years. But lately it’s gotten even worse, ever since Ash jumped me and I got a taste of just how good we are together. As always, it takes me a second to push through the familiar feeling of being karate chopped by Cupid.”

I was 100% not expecting to find Braht so charming and swoon worthy, which is what really makes Man Card so fantastic. Aside from that though, it has a really interesting storyline with twists I didn’t see coming at all, which is always a major bonus for me.

And like the first book in the series, it’s hilarious but in a different way. Because the two characters have this love-hate relationship going on, their back and forth banter leaves the reader cracking up while reading. They go through some seriously ridiculous situations while trying to one-up each other in their competition to be the best realtor in the area, and it’s thoroughly entertaining.

“Only my heart isn’t really in it. I’m too busy kicking myself over that fiasco with Braht. I fell for his fucking antics. Again. And then I disgraced myself by rubbing him as thoroughly as if I were trying to wax his Beemer with my body. That guy is my kryptonite.”

I don’t want to give away too much about the plot but I will say that since Braht is secure with his manhood he has no problem treating Ash like a queen. Instead of trying to be all alpha male and macho he has no problem admitting just how bad he has it for her. After reading this novel, readers will want a Braht of their very own. Maybe minus the parts where he drives Ash nutty.

Fans also get a look into more of Sadie’s woes, and it will only get fans more ready to see Ash and Brynn’s friend get her own Happily Ever After. Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby’s writing partnership has definitely been a success and I’m quite hooked on the comic relief found in the Man Hands series. Here’s to sitting on the edge of my seat until book #3 gets released!
