Despite starring on the popular British drama, and being a fan favorite, actress Maggie Smith reveals in an upcoming interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes that she’s never seen her show.

In the interview clip, seen below, Smith is asked if she’s proud of the show. She pauses for a moment, then answers.

“Well, yes, of course I am,” she said. “I was just pausing because I haven’t actually seen it. I don’t sit down and watch it … I’ve never watched it.”

When asked why, she continued, “Because it’s frustrating. I always see things that I would like to do differently and think, ‘Oh, why in the name of God did I do that?'”

We often hear from actors who don’t like to watch their own work because they’ll critique themselves too much. Perhaps Smith needs to hear from her fans so she knows that she’s beloved on Downton Abbey. Just yesterday we shared an interview with Dan Radcliffe, who admitted he can’t watch five of the eight Harry Potter films.

Smith’s full interview on 60 Minutes airs this Sunday, February 17 at 7 PM EST on CBS. Downton Abbey’s series finale airs on the same day at 9 PM ET on PBS.

Open letter to Maggie Smith

Dear Maggie,
We love you and all of your work. Yes, this means we love you on Downton Abbey. We have so many great lines from you to share on Tumblr, we almost need two Tumblr profiles to hold them all. There is nothing in your work on Downton Abbey that would have to be critiqued. So please, with all that is holy, watch your show with a fine cup of tea and consume it in all its glory.
