Harry Potter and the Cursed Child vet Noma Dumezweni is heading to one of HBO Max’s new original series.

According to Deadline, actress Noma Dumezweni (best known for originating the role of Hermione Granger in the
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play) has been cast in HBO Max’s Made For Love.

Dumezweni will appear as a series regular on the forthcoming series, which stars Ray Romano and How I Met Your Mother alum Cristin Milioti.

Based on author Alissa Nutting’s novel of the same name, Made For Love is described as “a dark, absurd, cynically poignant story of divorce and revenge.”

The story follows Hazel — a woman running away from a suffocating 10 year marriage to tech billionaire Byron Gogol. Though she’s clearly looking to put some distance between herself and her sociopathic ex, it sounds as though it won’t be a simple as hiding out with her estranged father and his synthetic partner/incredibly realistic sex doll, Diane. Especially after Hazel discovers that Byron has implanted her brain with the Made for Love chip — revolutionary monitoring device which allows him to watch her, track her, and know her thoughts and feelings.

Dumezweni joins previously announced cast members Cristin Milioti and Ray Romano, who will star in the half-hour drama series as Hazel and Hazel’s father, Herbert, respectively.

As for Dumezweni, she’ll be playing Fiffany on the HBO Max adaptation. Fiffany is a marine biologist who also happens to be “the brains behind the Made For Love technology.”

Currently, HBO Max has ordered 10 episodes of the adaptation, though there’s currently no word on when we can expect it to premiere via the new streaming platform.
