There’ll be a fresh face joining the cast of Madam Secretary when the series returns for its sixth season.

According to TV Line, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow alum Wentworth Miller has officially signed on to appear in Madama Secretary season 6.

The Prison Break star will be featured in a recurring role on the hit political drama’s final season, and it sounds as though he’ll be getting a lot of screen time with series star Tea Leoni.

The sixth and final season of Madam Secretary is set to pick up after a bit of a time jump that catches back up with Leoni’s Eliazabeth McCurd after she’s been officially elected President of the United States.

We’re sure she’s made some allies along the way during her glossed-over campaign trail, but unfortunately, fans shouldn’t count Wentworth Miller’s character as one of them.

In season 6, Miller will play the role of Senator Mark Hanson — a man described as “a ruthless politician” who isn’t happy about the fact that Elizabeth McCord has been elected president.

Unfortunately for POTUS, it sounds as though being counted amongst Hanson’s enemies is only going to make life on Capitol Hill harder than it already is.

In addition to being a senator, Mark Hanson also happens to be the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, meaning that he already holds quite a bit of power amongst key players in Washington, D.C.

It sounds as though we’ll see quite a bit of these two butting heads when Madam Secretary returns for its final season in a month’s time.

The hit political drama returns to CBS for its 10-episode final season beginning October 6.
