The newest Mad Men episode, 6×04 “To Have And to Hold,” just premiered on AMC. Now it’s time to recap and discuss with fellow fans!

On tonight’s new episode, Pete and Don have a meeting with a Heinz manager who says if their work is good, he can make sure his boss buys it. Later, Don meets his latest flame in the elevator, and they agree to more escapades. Arriving back at the office, Don checks out the progress on the Heinz campaign and enjoys a little marijuana from Stan who’s designing the art.

At her job as an actress, Megan learns she’s going to get a love scene. She breaks the news to Don that night, who decides he “can tolerate this, but not encourage it.” They agree to get dinner with the show’s head writer and lead actress who are a couple.

Ken and Harry have a meeting with Dow Chemical, and their proposal excites the owners. Joan discovers Scarlet left work early and proceeds to fire her, but her boss Harry steps in and calls Joan out on her war path. Scarlet stays at work. Harry then sees the partners having a meeting and assumes they’re talking about him and Scarlet. Clearly angry, he calls out the fact that he’s contributed a lot to the company with deals he’s made “in broad daylight” but is still not a partner. Unlike Joan, who essentially slept with a client to become a partner. Nothing comes of this awkward moment, though, and the partners carry on.

Don and Megan head to dinner with her show’s head writer and actress couple, and the latter two propose a foursome. Don and Megan are taken aback and turn it down but have a laugh about it on the car ride home.

The next day, Megan’s got her big love scene and Don has his meeting with Heinz. The “Pass the Heinz” campaign needs to be chewed on before the company makes a final decision. On their way out, Don sees that Peggy and Ted are vying for Heinz too. Don listens in on Peggy’s presentation where she pitches that Heinz is “the only ketchup.” They buy her campaign on the spot.

Later, Don visits Megan on the set to watch her film the love scene, and Megan is upset he came and did that to himself. With Don bothered, he leaves and goes to see his flame.
