Shazam: Fury of the Gods will find Lucy Liu going head to head with Zachary Levi.

According to Variety, actress Lucy Liu is the latest Hollywood A-lister to sign on to star in the highly anticipated Shazam sequel, Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

Liu’ involvement with the DC superhero flick comes hot on the heels of news that Helen Mirren has also joined the cast of the sequel.

Both Liu and Mirren are set to take on villain roles for Shazam 2. Specifically, they’ll be playing Kalypso and Hespera, respectively. Both villains are daughters of Atlas as well as sisters.

Casting for the sequel seems to have picked up steam since the beginning of the year when West Side Story star Rachel Zegler signed on to join Levi for the movie.

Also back on board is Asher Angel, who will reprise his role as teenage Billy Baston— the boy who assumes the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury whenever he calls out “Shazam.”

Others who are also back for second helpings include David F. Sandberg (who directed the first installment of the burgeoning franchise), as well as producer Peter Safran.

Meanwhile, Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan will split screenwriting duties on the sequel.
