Lucy Liu was spotted in Harlem this weekend with Mike Colter, prompting talk of what role she could be filling for Luke Cage season 2.

Geeks of Color connected the dots that could very well lead to a Lucy Liu directed episode of Luke Cage. The photos come from the instagram account for the Harlem Coffee Co. and a fellow Harlem-ite. They start with a selfie the owner took with Liu, followed by a group shot including Mike Colter and the caption, “That’s all folks.”

This selfie is the one that has us expecting to see the “Directed By: Lucy Liu” title card when Luke Cage season 2 rolls out sometime in 2018. Musa Jackson, who’s instagram includes the titles Producer and Harlem Brand Ambassador, includes a very telling caption in his photo with Mike Colter.

All this directing talk has fans wondering if Liu could possibly make an appearance in the series as well, but that has yet to be proven.

In addition to starring on Elementary, Liu has directed one episode every season since season 2. She definitely knows what it takes to direct a solid episode of television, although moving from network TV to a more creative-friendly platform like Netflix would be an exciting, and possibly freeing, experience.

We are excited to see who else Luke Cage has directing episodes in its second season.

Do you want to see Liu guest star in ‘Luke Cage’ in addition to directing an episode?
