Update (4/30/21): Lucifans still have a few more weeks to wait before season 5 part 2 debuts via Netflix. The good news is, fans of the series can get a taste for what’s in store right now.

On Friday (April 30), Netflix unveiled the first official trailer for the back half of Lucifer season 5, which teases a visit to Earth from God himself.

Tensions run high as Lucifer and God rendezvous in the land of the living, but not as high as when God drops a fairly sizable bombshell on the titular Lord of Hell.

Lucifer fans can look forward to kicking off the summer with new episodes of their favorite series on Netflix.

On Monday (March 29), the series finally revealed when fans could look forward to binging the second half of season 5 on Netflix.

The series took to its official Twitter account to reveal that part two of season 5 would officially be premiering at the end of May.

“We know that more episodes are what you truly desire,” tweeted the series. “Season 5B arrives on Netflix May 28.”

The series paired the exciting announcement with a fun meme featuring Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Detective Chlore Decker (Lauren German) wrapped in a loving embrace.

The first part of season 5 premiered via Netflix back at the end of August, so we’re sure Lucifans will be happy to hear that they won’t have much longer to wait before they’re able to feast their eyes on the second half of the season.

Lucifer season 5 marks the series’ penultimate season overall. The show, which first debuted back in 2015 on Fox, was cancelled by the network in May 2018. Netflix swooped in and saved it following an impassioned fan campaign back in June 2018.

This past June, the online streaming giant announced that it had renewed Lucifer for a sixth and final season.

The sci-fi crime dramedy focuses on the titular Lord of Hell. Bored and unhappy with his life in the underworld, he resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

The second half of Lucifer season 5 debuts exclusively via. Netflix on May 28, 2021.
