Impatient for Lucifer’s return on September 19? We have some teasers for the season 2 premiere to tide you over.

We’ve had a long summer to wait without our favorite Lord of Hell gracing our screens, but that wait is almost over. Lucifer returns with its sophomore season opener on September 19, and Hypable had the opportunity to catch a glimpse of it ahead of the premiere.

The synopsis for the premiere reads, “Lucifer is distracted by his mother’s escape from hell, as he and Chloe investigate the murder of a stand-in actress. Meanwhile, Chloe’s faith in Lucifer is tested by the new medical examiner, Ella. Also, Amenadiel hopes to rein in Lucifer’s wild side, as they both deal with the absence of Maze.”

Beware: There may be some mild spoilers ahead.

7 tantalizing teasers for the ‘Lucifer’ premiere

? There was one person we weren’t expecting to see in the premiere that was almost as shocking to the characters themselves. Needless to say, it’ll throw some complications into the mix of a few relationships — working and personal.

? Faith and truth are at odds over the course of the episode. Chloe has the means with which to discover the truth about Lucifer, but the outcome (inspired by a new face) may surprise you.

? Consequences run rife in the second season opener, not least for Amenadiel. He’s facing a very real, potentially dangerous consequence to his actions from season 1.

? What has Mazikeen been up to during her two-day absence? Lucifer and Amenadiel have their suspicions over her loyalties, but the truth is far more intriguing. (And something we’re seriously looking forward to seeing play out.)

? Sailing on the good ship #DeckerStar? Lucifer and Chloe have an incredibly sweet moment together. Listen out for the “eggs.”

? Speaking of listening, a certain someone shows off their musical chops at the close of the episode. The Lucifer writers are very, very good to us.

? Keep your eyes on the screen until the dying seconds, as a much anticipated character makes their entrance.

‘Lucifer’ season 2 premieres on Monday, September 19 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX!
