Are you ready for another date with the Devil? Lucifer season 2 is on the horizon, and Fox have released a poster, synopsis and cast photos to get us hyped.

San Diego Comic-Con was incredibly kind to #Lucifans, with a wealth of information about how Tricia Helfer’s “Mom” will impact the sophomore season, what’s next for Amenadiel and Maze’s relationship and just who Aimee Garcia’s newcomer, Ella Lopez, is.

We also got to hear Tom Ellis’ dulcet tones giving us a rendition the the Lucifer theme song. So, all in all, a pretty successful month.

Well, the gifts just keep on coming, as Fox have provided a synopsis for the second season — as well as an official poster and some cast photos.

The synopsis outlines some details we managed to glean from Lucifer’s Comic-Con panel, but it’s great seeing them from an official source.

In Season Two, LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR (Tom Ellis) and his brother, AMENADIEL (DB Woodside), who have been sparring over Lucifer’s resistance to returning to the underworld, will now be brought back together for one common goal – to find their mother, CHARLOTTE (Tricia Helfer, Battlestar Galactica), who escaped Hell. After all, Lucifer doesn’t take after his dad, so the parent he does resemble is sure to be quite terrifying. Lucifer’s work with the LAPD also is upended when the police force hires ELLA LOPEZ (Aimee Garcia The George Lopez Show), a smart, tough forensic scientist whose mutual belief in both faith and science proves a point of interest to Lucifer.

With mom on the loose, DR. LINDA MARTIN (Rachael Harris), who has become not only a therapist, but also a confidante to Lucifer, will surely have a lot of advice to dole out. And, by the time she’s done with them, she may need a therapist of her own.

The synopsis is certainly light on details about our favorite detective, Chloe Decker — but we know she won’t be taking a backseat. When discussing Lucifer and Chloe’s relationship at Comic-Con, Joe Henderson (showrunner) said, “What I love about it in season 2 is that Lucifer is actively spending time with Chloe Decker, even though he knows she makes him vulnerable. What does that say about him? What does that say about his, perhaps subconcious, desire to be vulnerable and to experience these new things.”

There’ll be plenty of Lucifer and Chloe interactions to satisfy us when the show returns on September 19 — and around the mid-way point we’ll even be getting the answer to our burning question of why Chloe affects Lucifer. We can’t wait!

For now, let these images sate your devilish appetite for more Lucifer — we’re particularly loving the second season poster, featuring those graffiti wings.
