Fox just increased Lucifer season 2’s episode count from a partial order to a full order, which means we get more Devil Time!

According to a press release on Monday, Lucifer just gained an additional nine episodes in season 2, bringing the full episode count up to the standard 22.

“LUCIFER continues to deliver, with great blasts of dark humor and ambitious storytelling. The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to GOTHAM, and we couldn’t be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes,” says David Madden, President of Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company. “We’d like to thank Tom, Lauren and the entire cast, who have imbued these characters with charm, humor and a great deal of humanity. Our thanks also go out to the production crew – Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy – who, week-in and week-out, deliver a stellar show. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the season.”

The press release also states, “Tonight, LUCIFER continues a run of five uninterrupted episodes, through Monday, Nov. 28,” after which it sounds like it may be taking a winter hiatus. There’s no hint at when the show could return, but it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that they wait until early 2017 to finish up the season.

Season 2 has been solid so far, with each case of the week playing a large part in Lucifer’s overall arc this year. After the fallen angel’s mother returned to Earth, we weren’t sure what her true intentions would be, and it turns out we still don’t. I have a feeling she’s playing a long game.

This week’s Lucifer explored how the Devil was feeling after he killed his brother, Uriel.

All season 2 episodes of Lucifer are available On Demand and to stream at FOX NOW and Hulu.
